Prison Sentence for Landlord who ignored a Prohibition Notice


Property where children were living!!!!

An Ilford Landlord ignore a Prohibition Notice under the Regulatory Reform Safety Order.

A property that included children living here.

Which included: 

 

  • Lack of fire compartmentation between the commercial and residential parts of the building
  • Issues relating to the maintenance and suitability of fire doors
  • Lack of smoke alarms
  • No emergency lighting in the fire escape route
The landlord was sentenced to four months in prison with a hefty fine.
