Failing to comply with a Prohibition Notice


This is a very serious offence and if you are found to be in breech of Fire Safety there are consequences

A Kebab shop in Hastings with a basement where food is prepared and living accommodation on 3 upper floors, where their only means of escape was down a single staircase which leads directly to the commercial area.

 A Prohibition Notice was issued on the day of the initial visit, which immediately prevented people from sleeping upstairs.

2 years on and people were still sleeping upstairs

31 months later and a fine of over £4500 the premises was fit for sleeping
